Kevin Drew BSS Series LP Details Emerge
Unicorns!!!!11
As summer winds down and "Umbrella" starts showing some holes, rejoice in knowing that Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew* will be there for you with 14 golden autumn jams.Said jams comprise Drew's previously reported Spirit If..., the first in a proposed series of Broken Social Scene LPs penned by a primary songwriter (with Drew at the plate this time, and Brendan Canning on deck for the next one) and featuring a revolving door cast of BSS stalwarts and outsiders. Arts & Crafts will serve up Spirit If... on September 18. And yes, those are unicorns.
The full tracklist lies ahead, but from titles alone, we hereby deem "Gangbang Suicide" Thee Jam of Fall 2007. At the very least we hope it's better than "Shampoo Suicide". Another quite-nice-sounding Spirit If... tune, the ambiguously titled "Tbtf", can be yours with a mere click below.
Kevin Drew and friends will play some gigs in support of Spirit If... Thus far the only confirmed happening, billed as "Broken Social Scene performs Kevin Drew's Spirit If...", goes down August 29 at Brooklyn's McCarren Park Pool, with Feist headlining.
