Interpol Unveil Single Details, More Tour Dates
Photo by Joseph MohanYour dear pals in Interpol have concocted a little plan to make you choke up even more cash on their first single off Our Love to Admire, "The Heinrich Maneuver". Actually it's same plan pretty much every band uses overseas: three different versions of the UK-only single, each boasting different B-sides. They're due out July 2 on Parlophone.
Think CDs are just the bee's knees? Then the CD version of "The Heinrich Maneuver" is the perfect match for you! It even comes with an instrumental version of Our Love cut "Mammoth" as well. Refuse to 86 your old 45s? Then score a couple more, as "The Heinrich Maneuver" comes in not one, but two different 7" versions (actually those may play at 33 rpm, we're not sure). The first contains the orchestral intro Interpol have been known to play live of late on the flip, while the second includes-- suspense-- Our Love offering "Wrecking Ball".
It should be noted that all singles contain the "Radio Edit" of "Heinrich", which means it's missing Paul Banks' wild stream of obscenities and beef-slinging that appears on the album (jk). There's also a download of the edit available by itself for purchase should you prefer to cut through all the rigmarole.
Frankly, I'd buy ten versions of it if this ace jam winds up the next single.
And all those years of illegally bootlegging VHS's have finally caught up with you, 'cause Interpol is coming to getcha! They'll be knocking on even more doors than before, thanks to a handful of newly minted dates in the UK, mainland Europe, and Canada.
