Kanye West and Peter Bjorn and John: It's On
It's going down! According to MTV, the recent overture Kanye West made to Peter Bjorn and John seeking backing band service at Gothenburg, Sweden's Way Out West Festival on August 11 has been accepted, and the tuneful trio will bring the snappy snare and, of course, the pursed lips to the Chi-town MC's set. Dude always seems to get what he wants, doesn't he?
Here's an interesting tidbit MTV picked up in talking to PB&J's Peter Móren: until Kanye spit all over their song, Móren had never heard Kanye West, one of the most dominant voices in popular music over the past few years. "I guess he seems to be a nice guy," Móren added. (Tell that to Justice and Simian.)
As for what will happen at the Way Out West performance, Móren said, "He's going to rap on a song and we're going to play along and I'm
going to dance. But I don't know specifics, like, what we're gonna do.
Just jam around a bit. I may have to choreograph a dance routine. I
have to check out his videos and see what he's doing. Maybe we will put
on some new suits. You know, sweat pants? Gymnastic outfits-- what do
you call them? Tracksuits?"
Both Kanye and Peter Bjorn and John have many tour dates on the way, though August 11 is the only time they'll share. Ah, well; they'll always have YouTube.
