Few things make Wayne Coyne crowd surfing inside a giant inflatable hamster ball seem even crazier than it already is, but drinking is certainly one of them.

San Diego and Madison residents, keep this in mind when Coyne's Flaming Lips headline the SoCo Music Experience festivals in your fair cities, since these 21+ "SCMX" events will come complete with "food, poster and record shop vendors, [and] a unique SoCo Lime Lounge experience," according to a press release. And though the "experience" so often ends with the projectile discoloration of local plant life, it is also glorious while it lasts.

In addition to the Flaming Lips, San Diego's SCMX will feature performances by Z-Trip (with special guests), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Galactic, and Delta Spirit. It will take place on August 25 at the Ace Parking Lot next to PETCO Park.

The Lips will also play the Madison event, which pits them alongside Cold War Kids, Sick Puppies, Cowboy Mouth, and Goat Motor on September 8 at Willow Island at Alliant Energy Center.
