Kevin Drew Announces Tour, Book Eaters Appearance
Broken Social Scenester and rising solo (sorta) star Kevin Drew (link NSFW) has announced the dates of a fall tour in support of his forthcoming solo (sorta) debut, Broken Social Scene Presents: Kevin Drew Spirit If...
The tour begins September 29 in Halifax, Nova Scotia before quickly moving to European shores. At the web home of label Arts & Crafts (which will release the album on September 18), the tour is billed as "Broken Social Scene Plays Kevin Drew's Spirit If", which means that the following people will make up Drew's touring band: Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning and Justin Peroff, American Analog Set's Andrew Kenny, Bill Priddle of Treble Charger, and Sam Goldberg of Uncut. Perhaps they will play Broken Social Scene songs in addition to Spirit If... songs?
Canning and a few other, currently unnamed members of BSS will also play with Drew at his next show, an appearance at the August 26 Revenge of the Book Eaters event in NYC, which also features Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Grizzly Bear, Britt Daniel of Spoon, A.C. Newman of New Pornographers, Sarah Vowell, and Demitri Martin-- but you knew that.
Feist is also on the Book Eaters bill, and she and Drew have a show in Brooklyn together just three days later. Might she also devour some literature with Drew? We hope so.
