"Wire B-sides... sure, I'd love to review it," I thought a while back. If I'd known that I'd be dealing with late-period material, I would have passed (wisely). Although I do enjoy the first three records, I was never a huge Wire fan, and I missed their much-maligned mid-to-late 80s reformation without so much as shedding a tear. Even most Wire diehards don't care for this period, but someone thought that a disc of B-sides and remixes from this era would be worth bringing to market. Not so grand, this thing... terribly synthetic roads to nowhere are all I found spread out upon the surface of this digital drink coaster. Perhaps some stuff is best left in the vaults, as this disc is forgettable at best.
