Do the Whirlwind (Hot Chip Remix)
Instead of turning this into a Rainbow Brite dance party, Hot Chip go the Arthur Baker route, extend the original's rubbery synth line, and steer off into the sunset. Hot Chip have their work done for them, really; snippets of the original are even more danceable when rearranged and introduced out of context. The ghostly group vocals from the original's outro are a perfect competing texture, keyboard harmonies sound twice as tweaked, the swinging saxophone riff has Pied Piper power, and the bongos must have taken hours of digging to find the perfect clip-- but it's all there, and together make Architecture in Helsinki sound like some precociously funky Australians in retrospect.
