Hey Hey / Stumped (live)

It's an excuse, or more likely, a philosophy: "Is that good enough? I think so." Ian MacKaye spoke for "Stumped"'s take one back in '83, and Blood on the Wall's Courtney Shanks finishes with it live in '05, too. That spoken bit was outro ad-lib on Minor Threat's most amateur song (and they were all amateur songs, duh); it was also advance permission to be the first punk song covered at your middle school talent show, although it probably wouldn't be the last.

Blood on the Wall mostly live too Sonic Youth to be as three-chord ready, but youngsters will have noted "Hey Hey" as the exception to eventually prove their cool. That Blood on the Wall already mashed up the two only makes the blueprint that much sharper. Just add some Ramones and you're the coolest kid in school.
