Lindstrom
“Breakfast in Heaven”

[2006]
Chorus of angels; chorus-effected beats; big, quantized arpeggios digging trenches out of the acoustic space before them and letting the rush of sparkling, metallic pixie-matter fill everything in between. Norway's Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, riding a very hot wave of remixes and his own productions throughout the dancing-robot multiverse, delivers another nice little ride, as entertaining as you could ever want it to be-- with the standard suspension of disbelief that people don't actually move through the air to, say, have breakfast in heaven. Nevertheless, this reminds me in spirit of stuff Boredoms/V8redoms ringleader eYe is doing now as the Lift Boys: making gorgeous, escapist fantasy-dance, full of detail and enough subtle variation to keep the home-listeners all hopped up. And really, when the views are this fantastic, escaping is hardly a retreat.
