Coldplay Announce Intimate U.S. Gigs

Coldplay have announced tour plans in both North America and Europe for this spring and summer. While they will make appearances at festivals on both continents, they will also play some smaller club shows. Coldplay's website is calling these "buzz gigs." As if, you know, no one in North America has heard of Coldplay.

The tour will be in support of their upcoming album, X&Y, which will be released on June 6 in Europe and June 7 in North America. The "Clocks"-esque single, "Speed of Sound", has already hit the airwaves.

The intimate shows include stops in Chicago and San Francisco, at smaller venues that Coldplay could probably sell out for a week if they so desired. Meanwhile, the supporting acts in Europe include Interpol, Supergrass, Elbow, and Doves.
