Kanye West's Late Registration Tracklist Revealed

Kanye West is such a tease. For the past few months, he's been throwing out all sorts of tantalizing little pieces of information about his forthcoming second album, Late Registration. First we got one release date, then another, then another. Then the "Diamonds" single, and the video, then "Diamonds from Sierra Leone", and then the "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" remix featuring Jay-Z and then "Gold Digger". Then a list of guest contributors that included M.I.A. and John Mayer, then the assurance that the record would be "white crunk" influenced by Franz Ferdinand, then the knowledge that the supremely unfunky Fiona Apple/Aimee Mann knob-twiddler Jon Brion was co-producing the whole thing, then a track featuring Nas leaked to Hot 97...

Enough!

At last, a mere two weeks before its release on August 30, we have the final (we hope) tracklist for Late Registration. The record will include an exhausting 17 songs and four skits, featuring no less than 13 guest stars (not to mention Mr. Brion). Alas, M.I.A. is, uh, M.I.A., and Adam Levine from Maroon 5 seems to have taken John Mayer's place as hip-hop's favorite awkward white adult-contemporary dude. When The Guardian asked Kanye how he felt about M.I.A. declining his invitation to appear on Late Registration, the college dropout paused and simply said, "I'm Kanye West."

This thing better be good, or several Pitchfork staffers will lock themselves in their bedrooms with nothing but 50 Cent-flavored Vitamin Water and the new Sigur Rós album.
