Broken Social Scene Line Up Fall American Tour

Time to clink a 12-pack Moosehead toast, as the original Canadian uber-hypesters (sorry Arcade Fire) Broken Social Scene have just announced a Fall tour to coincide with the upcoming release of their next studio LP. The self-titled disc (which features gawd-awful Rainbow Children-esque cover art), the band's third official full length, is set for release on October 4, and the Toronto outfit currently have a mess of supporting dates scheduled throughout October and November-- with opening duties from Canuck indie pinup Leslie Feist (or just Feist if you're nasty). As previously reported, the upcoming Broken Social Scene (really guys, the eponymously-titled third album didn't even work for Sugar Ray) is the proper follow up to 2002's show stopping You Forgot It In People (after last year's b-sides collection release, Beehives). And as is the in indie-land these days, the album has already been leaked online through various file sharing services-- to which the band recently issued a website post addressing the hack this week.

"We were hoping that it would have taken longer before someone leaked it. But today is a beautiful day. We are all confused and happy This is us What you hear is finished. Finished is a word that can either set you free or be a curse . We are hoping for freedom here. But... You know the deal and so do we I guess. We're grateful you are tracking us down. Go and argue and fall in love. Or go towards the ditch. It took us a while. Hopefully it will take you a while as well."
