Spoon to Dish out New Single
Out on Merge on November 8, the "Sister Jack" enhanced CD will be laced with two B-sides, live footage, and a plasma-hot new video for "Sister Jack". The clip was shot in Spoon's hometown of Austin and features what else but "a mariachi band and a testosterone fueled nun badly in need of a shave", according to a press release.
Helps the medicine go down:
01 Sister Jack
02 I Turn My Camera On (John McEntire remix)
03 Sunday Morning Wednesday Night
04 Sister Jack video + live footage
If television is the choice conduit to your heart, well, Spoon have designs on wooing you, too. PBS will air the band's Austin City Limits session, recorded back in March during SXSW, on November 5 (check local listings). Then come December 6, Britt & the boys summon you to endure an episode of "Last Call With Carson Daly".
The Spoon multimedia assault will continue next Tuesday, October 25, when the band's entire Merge back catalog will become available online for the first time (legally), via iTunes, eMusic and Rhapsody. iTunes will offer the added enticement of an exclusive new song, "My First Time, Volume 3". Click it up, kids.
As previously reported, the Spoon keeps on running, as it were, all across this kooky nursery rhyme of a country. Catch them if you can, on tour with Mary Timony, labelmates American Music Club, and, uh, the Neil Diamond cover band Super Diamond.
