Black Lips, Notwist Do New Sub Pop Singles Club
Clear off some room on that record shelf now, and save yourself the trouble later: in conjunction with all their 20th birthday festivities, Sub Pop is set to bring your turntable seven inches of bliss on a monthly basis with this summer's relaunch of the label's fabled Singles Club.
The subscription series will last for one year and one year only, bringing a lucky few platters from the likes of Black Lips, Black Mountain, the Notwist, Mika Miko (who reportedly turn in a Black Flag cover for theirs), Arthur & Yu, Tyvek, Unnatural Helpers, Blues Control, and a few more just waiting to be announced.
The good times kick off August 15 with a pair of tracks from Om, with eleven more 7"s to follow. And in deference to these digital times, you'll not only get the disc, but also a coupon for high-quality MP3s of each and every track.
If your interest is piqued, you'll wanna move on this one, pronto: the singles are limited to 1,500 copies apiece, and subscriptions are available now through Sub Pop's website. Your mailbox hasn't had it this good in years.
