Happy Birthday, Sub Pop! You still may not be old enough to drink in this country, but that doesn't mean you don't know how to have a good time. Case in point: this past weekend's SP20 Festival in celebration of the mighty Seattle label's 20th anniversary, which brought together the reunited likes of Green River, the Vaselines, Eric's Trip, Red Red Meat, Les Thugs, the Fluid, Seaweed, and Beachwood Sparks with current roster heavyweights Wolf Parade, Low, Iron and Wine, No Age, Fleet Foxes, Blitzen Trapper, the Ruby Suns, Comets on Fire, and more. And let's not forget the band that's been with SP the whole while: Mudhoney.
Photos of the above-mentioned and more at Marymoor Park reside below, and of course be sure to catch Pitchfork's own anniversary offerings if you haven't already: interviews with label founders Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman and Mudhoney/Green River guy Mark Arm, a treatise on the famed Sub Pop Singles Club, and individual and collective favorites from the vast Sub Pop catalog, as chosen by Pitchfork's staff.
Forkcast has some video footage of the fest as well.
