Video: Apples In Stereo: "Energy"

There were unchaperoned minors at Apples in Stereo's CMJ show last November. It was the second show of theirs I'd been to, but it took seeing actual kids jumping up and down and singing along for me to realize this band didn't just sound like children's music-- they were meant for kids.

But, somewhere between "Revolution" and "Put a Little Love in Your Heart", "Energy" (from the Apples' New Magnetic Wonder, due out February 6) is a little too feel-good-- even for the kindercore set. "The world is made of energy/ And there's a lot inside of you," sing Robert Schneider, followed by the four most comforting words ever: "...it's gonna be alright." Simple and repetitive, this could easily become a bedwetting preteen's favorite song. The video'll probably appeal to babies, too-- look at all those bright colors on Schneider's jacket!
