Video: The Flaming Lips & Pete Townshend: "Baba O'Riley (Backstage at V Festival)"

British webcast "In the Attic", hosted by singer/songwriter Rachel Fuller, has been active since October 2005. The show, which was originally created as a way for Fuller to interact with her fans, features a mix of videos, acoustic performances, and other bits-- like a recent episode that featured Fuller's fashion advice (don't mix prints, ladies!) The show has featured numerous guests, and also hits the British festival circuit, catching backstage performances from artists like the Raconteurs, Regina Spektor, the Kooks, Kasabian, and the Magic Numbers, many of which have been compiled for a live album titled Attic Jam.

Here, Fuller and the Who's Pete Townshend show off a clip of Townshend performing backstage at the V Festival in Baltimore with the Flaming Lips, who tackle the heavy pressure of covering a Who song ("Baba O'Riley") they've hardly rehearsed alongside the man who wrote it. The Lips give it all their best, but y'know, times like this you miss Roger Daltrey. [Thanks Andrew Loog Oldham]
