Lil Wayne might be "The Greatest Rapper Alive", but, well, "Mikey Rocks". It's not a clash of genres but a match made in internerd heaven when Weezy F. Baby meets Cool Kids' Mikey and Chuck for "Gettin It", slated to appear on DJ Benzi's forthcoming Get Right album. Benzi has worked with Wayne before, most recently mixing the rapper's star-devouring new None Higher: We Got the Remix Special Edition mixtape. As featured over at The Fader blog, "Gettin It" starts with a quick puff from Cool Kids...so at least Wayne might not be the only one with the munchies. Gettin' what?

Vinyl-scratching and a high-pitched hook that brings to mind LL Cool J's "Doin It" (without the mid-90s sexy) augment the Kids' throwback (not throwback) steez, which lazy strings take to the beach. Wayne's rhymes breathe in JavaScript, Steve Harvey, and the Pack's Cool Kids-like "Vans" in a single verse-- and suggest Cool Kids may still have to brain a lot of damage cells to get wherever Wayne's floating. Da Drought 3 found Wayne "so motherfucking high I could eat a star". Here, smoking "like a candle", he doubles it up: "I'm so high I thought I saw spaceships." Nah, that's just R. Kelly.
