Video: Art Brut: "Direct Hit"
The boys (and girl) of Art Brut have been No. 1 in Narnia. They've been No. 1 in Disneyland. And the new video for "Direct Hit", from sophomore album It's a Bit Complicated, might send them to the top of the charts in ancient Rome, too. Either that, or Eddie Argos takes toga parties way too seriously.
The clip begins with the self-aware UK rockers in their finest imperial garb, dutifully analyzing a scroll while Argos gives emphatic directions. Apparently nobody's shoes fit, because soon enough everybody's moving around like it's a full-on bacchanal-- sorry, without the nudity. From there, well, things get a bit complicated. If Mike Skinner is 45th-generation Roman, what does that make Argos? (Via Brooklyn Vegan.)
