Saturday Looks Good to Me Ready New Album
Polyvinyl Records' darlings and critical faves Saturday Looks Good to Me have announced plans to break from a relatively quiet summer to play 20 dates with ex-Olivia Tremor Control co-frontman Bill Doss' psych-pop project The Sunshine Fix. The occasion for the tour is the pending September 14th release of Every Night, the group's fifth full-length (second for Polyvinyl), and the follow-up to the four-track feat that was last year's All Your Summer Songs. In the relatively short period between releases, SLGTM frontman Fred Thomas' knack for classic pop production and arrangement has increasingly led to his reputation as a sort of Midwestern bedroom George Martin. With Every Night, fans can apparently expect an even more focused, fully realized slab of neo-60s dreaminess featuring bigger production and even more finely tuned songcraft. Tracklist:
Since You Stole My Heart
Until the World Stops Spinning
Keep Walking
All Over Town
The Girl's Distracted
If You Ask
Empty Room
When the Party Ends
Dialtone
We Can't Work It Out
Lift Me Up
When You Got to New York
And though Saturday Looks Good to Me have not yet officially announced their tour itinerary, we're guessing that it looks a lot like the one posted by SpinArt Records for The Sunshine Fix, since, as we just said like a couple sentences ago, the two are hitting the road together.
