The Life Aquatic's Seu Jorge to Release Album, Tour
Jorge's own childhood was very different from the life of space-bound, glittery decadence he sings about on the soundtrack-- he grew up in a Brazilian slum and fixed tires to support his family. Jorge put that street cred to good use when he played 'Knockout Ned' in City of God, which was nominated for a handful of Oscars last year. Jorge also sings about those Brazilian slums and, er, rallies against breast implants on Cru (translation: 'Raw'), his debut album on Wrasse Records. The record will be released on September 6. Jorge will be touring North America to support the album in September, but most of his current shows are elsewhere:
