LCD Soundsystem Rock for PlayStation
That's right, don't cry if the Nintendo Fusion Tour (starring Hot Topic faves FOB, the Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack, Boys Night Out and Panic! At the Disco) was sold out when it stopped in your town. Thanks to Sony and their PlayStation DualPlay tour, us cynical hipsters can be in on the lifestyle-branding fun, too, as we're lead into the belly of the corporate beast by our fearless, cowbell-rocking leader.
"In our relentless effort to bring you the best vibes, LCD Soundsystem will kick off the second leg of one of the most exciting PlayStation DualPlay tours ever!" screams the DualPlay website. "From Portland to Atlantic City, led by James Murphy, LCD Soundsystem will move you in directions you might not be able to control!" Like to the bathroom to vomit up a toxic puke of Sparks, vodka, and Murphy's remaining cred points.
Murphy's got a new single to hawk alongside the PlayStations: "Tribulations", which is already bringing the best vibes overseas, and will see U.S. release as a 12" towards the end of October. The single includes remixes by Tiga and Lindstrom, as well as a live rendition from Zane Lowe's BBC show. There's also a cool video for the song, apparently, but the only thing I ever see when I turn on MTV2 is that show where video game characters act out music videos or something.
Tourmate/labelmate the Juan Maclean also has a new single, "Give Me Every Little Thing", which will be in American hands on October 18. The double-12" will feature remixes by Cajmere, X-Press 2, Putsch 79 and Eric B. (not Rakim's friend). The CD version will include all that as well as a new song, "La Chine", and the "Give Me Every Little Thing" video.
