Wilderness Reveal New LP Release Date, Tracks

And the winner of the 2005 Broken Social Scene Prize for Out-of-Left-Field Excellence is...Wilderness! Come on down, boys. Your reward is a Difficult Sophomore Album!

On April 11, the Baltimore band will really get to prove that their urgent art-rock is for real, and that last year's self-titled debut wasn't just some a fluke. That day will bring the release of Vessel States on Jagjaguwar.

A note on the label's website reads: "The psychic parameters have fallen off in an attempt at immediacy...a snow storm in the sure footed as a direct result of categorization...yearning to communicate has yielded psychic flares bounced from the bedframes, responding is silence...this is our collective strength to cover our heads with the music...play the fool, try to heal, be wary of the clever...vessel states..." Frankly, we can't imagine snow storm music without thinking of the Arctic Monkeys these days. Damn you, British press!

The tracks look a little something like this. We hope that fifth song has nothing to do with that Drew Barrymore/Jimmy Fallon movie:

01 The Blood Is on the Wall
02 Beautiful Alarms
03 Emergency
04 Last
05 Fever Pitch
06 Death Verses
07 Towered
08 Gravity Bent Light
09 Monumental

As of this moment, Wilderness have only two tour dates on the slab, but the band's website foretells of many more to come. Say can you see:

02-17 New York, NY - Cake Shop *
02-18 New York, NY - Cake Shop #
