MP3: Kids Rapping to Sufjan!

MP3: Kids Rapping to Sufjan!

What do you get when you cross a Sufjan Stevens sample, an empowering feminist message, and 5-12 year-old rapping children?

The answer is "First Ladies Anthem" by the Rapper's Delight Club, a Maryland-based after-school group that teaches kids how to rhyme in the traditional sense: talkin' trash, giving shout-outs, and referencing their bling bling, all over Sufjan's "There are Zombies!! There are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back From the Dead!! Run for Your Lives!! Ahhhhhh!". And hey, they're talented! Maybe this will open the floodgates for even more Sufjan samples and remixes. Ghostface Killah tackles "Casimir Pulaski Day"? (Ghost could totally find something to rhyme with that.) Lady Sovereign takes on "Chicago"? It could work.
