The Knife Announce DVD

The Knife Announce DVD You might not be able to hear the Knife's shout, but you'd better believe you can see it-- and as we now know, it's a jaw-dropping spectacle to behold live. So get stoked, as the Stockholm-based brother/sister duo has announced the release of a new DVD of performance footage from this year's tour and videos, titled Silent Shout: An Audio Visual Experience.

It's due November 8 via the band's Rabid Records (interested parties can preorder it now), and collects 11 music videos (that's all of them, folks), label co-chief Frau Rabid's short, When I Found the Knife (also featured on the Deep Cuts two-disc CD/DVD package), and live footage from the pair's April 12, 2006 gig in Gothenburg, Sweden. Andreas Nilsson took care of the visuals, and Marius Dybwad Brandrud filmed and edited the "experience."

For the moment, it appears the DVD will only be available to the lucky people of Sweden (and, of course, citizens of the interweb)-- however, Amazon.com's U.S. site lists a release date of November 21 (a Tuesday) for an NTSC-encoded version of the DVD, so it may well swing Stateside after all.

Live performance footage of "We Share Our Mothers' Health", meanwhile, has made its way online. It both looks and sounds completely off-the-hook, especially for a stream, so check it!

Having been there and done that at CMJ earlier this week, the Knife will slice its way to San Francisco tonight (November 3) for a Mezzanine gig. Tomorrow, they'll make the final stab of their mind-melting U.S. trek at Los Angeles' El Rey Theatre. Bring bandages.
