Jena Malone Kicks off Social Registry Singles Club
So they kicked you out of math club for gluing all those protractors point-up on the teacher's chair. Well here's a much cooler club you can join: the Social Registry's Social Club, a very exclusive series of monthly singles carved into seven inches of wax.
Membership is limited to 750, with dues payable to the Social Registry website. (Pre-orders being accepted now!) That small activities fee will get you six hand-numbered entries, and the envy of all your classmates.
Jena Malone and Her Bloodstains will kick off the series May 22 with "Greeneyed Monster" b/w "Tested Dry". On the 7", Malone is backed by the likes of Russell Simins of Blues Explosion, Chris Maxwell of Skeleton Key, Adam Crystal of Dopo Yume, and Louis Schwadron.
To celebrate, the Social Registry has hooked us up with an exclusive unreleased Jena Malone track, the spooky "Moonlight Bloodshed", which can be downloaded below. For more about Malone's music, check out our news story and Forkcast post. Malone also has a few live shows scheduled; see below for the dates.
On June 19, the London-based Sian Alice Group will serve up the second single, "Nightsong". Check out "Contours", a hypnotic new Sian Alice Group song that won't be on the 7", by clicking below.
The Social Club will also feature discs from Brian Degraw (of Gang Gang Dance), Total Life (Kevin Doria of Growing), Douglas Armour, IUD (featuring Lizzie Bougatsos of Gang Gang Dance), Kid Kishore, Octis (Mick Barr of Orthrelm) and Messages (featuring Tres Warren of Psychic Ills).
