Deerhunter Dudes Blog About Their Poop
We've been known to post about pretty much anything this band shits out, but this is getting ridiculous...
It was recently brought to our attention that Deerhunter have begun to keep a weblog detailing their exploits as a touring noise-rock band. The blog began, as so many do, with a few out-of-context pictures, recitation of song lyrics, and a rundown of recent events. It was a decent read, but as bloggers, Deerhunter are a damn fine musical act.Our approximation of the blog changed rather drastically earlier today, when we came across three entries we can only describe as "unusually shitty." It seems, following a spirited conversation between the band and their tour manager Kristin Klein, a regular account of the band's defecatory habits was born. Though an earlier entry suggests that multi-instrumentalist Lockett Pundt would detail his own floater to sinker ratio for the blog, the most recent entry-- posted by frontman Bradford Cox from a Charlottesville, Virginia Day's Inn about his bandmates' Hershey kisses-- makes it seem this will be a collaborative effort. I can't believe we're quoting this:
Unable to sleep in this humid, dank, unairconditioned prison, I am left to reflect on the forthcoming poop journal:
developed from silk
delicate brown orchids float
like aquatic blossoms
Your mothers must be so proud. Time will tell if the poop journal maintains its, er, rate of regularity, but when you've only got five dudes and one bathroom, the potential for multiple entries about the same special delivery is rather high. Gee, fellas, isn't there enough crap on the internet already? (Rimshot!)
At present, Deerhunter are leaving their mark all over the motor lodges of this nation of ours, including a stop at this weekend's Pitchfork Music Festival. Attendees, please add hand sanitizer to your pre-fest shopping lists.
