Veteran troubadour Vic Chesnutt has teamed up with a hefty slice of the post-rock friendly Constellation Records roster and a few other notables for North Star Deserter, out on CD and double-LP from the label August 27 in Europe and September 11 everywhere else.

On Deserter, Vic is joined by all of Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band (that name just keeps getting longer, no?), Bruce Cawdron of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Guy Picciotto of Fugazi, Chad Jones and Nadia Moss of Frankie Sparo, and many others. The album was produced by Picciotto, along with Efrim Menuck and Thierry Amar of Silver Mt. Zion and Jem Cohen.

Vic and friends recorded North Star at Montreal's Hotel2Tango with former Arcade Fire drummer Howard Bilerman.
