Bobby Womack Gets Best Of, Digital Reissues, Live LP
Who out there likes Bobby Womack? Hey, us too! And, wouldn't you know it, the Cleveland-born soulman is set to issue a brand new best-of. Entitled The Best of Bobby Womack: The Soul Years, the collection is due May 27 on CD and at your standard digital retailers from Capitol/EMI.So, who out there likes Bobby Womack a whole hell of a lot? If you answered in the affirmative on that count, well, you're probably already counting down the days before the Womack onslaught of May 27. In addition to The Best Of, Capitol/EMI will issue seven of Womack's classic LPs digitally for the first time: 1968's Fly Me to the Moon, 1969's My Prescription, 1971's The Womack Live, 1973's Lookin' for a Love Again, 1975's Safety Zone, 1975's I Don't Know What the World Is Coming To, and 1976's BW Goes C&W.
What's more, May 27 will also see the digital release of recently unearthed recordings of a previously unavailable 1972 Womack gig under the title Live at the Apollo.
