A whole host of experimental, avant garde, and just plain rockin' music-makers will perform at Montreal's Casa del Popolo and La Sala Rossa venues next month as part of the eighth annual Suoni per il Popolo.

The program takes place from June 1 to June 30, and it includes sets from Mount Eerie, Oneida, Retribution Gospel Choir, Powerhouse Sound (featuring Ken Vandermark and members of Tortoise), Hüsker Dü's Grant Hart, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band, Marissa Nadler, Excepter, Tim Hecker, the Sun Ra Arkestra, the Nels Cline Singers, Vic Chesnutt, Sun City Girls' Alan and Sir Richard Bishop, Carla Bozulich's Evangelista, Hard Cell (Tim Berne/Craig Taborn/Thom Rainey), MV & EE With the Golden Road, Picastro, Paal Nilssen-Love & Magnus Broo, and Thalia Zedek.
